Chia Chocolate Recovery Smoothie

This Chia chocolate smoothie is one of the best things you can start your day with. You may arguably call it a “shake” as it tastes so delicious. But do not let that chocolate fools you. This is primarily a healthy green smoothie lurking behind a little naturally sweetened cocoa. And it’s so simple to make. 

Such a delicious and rich treat that it is truly good for you. I would consider it an excellent way to start your day. 


  1. 3 Tbsp. chia seeds
  2. 1 cup tightly-packed fresh spinach
  3. 1 cup ice
  4. 2 Tbsp. unsweetened cocoa powder (I used dark cocoa powder)
  5. 1 cup milk (I used almond milk)
  6. 1 banana, peeled
  7. 1 Tbsp. honey, if needed to sweeten (optional)
  8. 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract


Put all the ingredients in a blender and mix till smooth. Then serve directly.
